Below is a facsimile of how the main VASTHEAD.COM weather page looked on December 4, 2OO1. At the time, we called it Space City Weather.
One of the now-forgotten events during the traumatic autumn of 2OO1 was the death of Beatle George Harrison. This Houston area weather page gave a small tribute by quoting from the song "It's All Too Much" from the album and movie, Yellow Submarine (1968).
There is no mention of the 9-11 events on this page. There were comments on The Vasthead home page, and we changed that page frequently during the last months of 2OO1. Unfortunately none of those home page versions were archived. You can see the flag flying on a Vasthead page from 2002.
The page below displays current weather conditions at numerous locations in the Houston area. Notice that there is no forecast information, just current conditions. The idea was to get a big picture look at current weather by seeing all the nearby reporting stations at a glance.

Space City Weather presents a simple idea: You can get a better look at the weather if you know what is happening at many locations. Make this your page for a BIG PICTURE look at all the weather in the Houston area.
Space City Weather is a presentation of The Vasthead.

This page comes to you from Houston, Texas, and from a place not far from the former Genoa, Texas . Based on its actual location, Almeda Mall (on 45 South, the Gulf Freeway, at Almeda-Genoa Road) should have been called "Genoa Mall."
Its whimsical beginning: How this page looked in the Fall of 1999 .
